What is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling involves understanding the problems of living in a fallen world – and their solutions – from a biblical perspective. The Bible is used both to define the problems and to develop methods for solving these problems. The counselors at Rod & Staff Ministries have received formal training in biblical counseling. They are not licensed psychologists, but rather pastoral counselors. They are either certified or in training to be certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, a national organization devoted to insuring the quality of counseling offered by its members.

Is It Confidential?

The Bible clearly states that gossip is wrong. Therefore, the counselors at Rod & Staff Ministries will not release information about particular counselees except in the few situations required by the Bible or the laws of our state. Those situations are: 1) when someone is in danger of being harmed, 2) when a child is physically or sexually abused, 3) when someone persistently refuses to stop a sinful pattern, and it is necessary to seek assistance from his/her church to encourage proper change (see Matthew 18:15-20 and Romans 13:1-7), or 4) when a pastor/elder is inquiring about his sheep.

Where are you located?

Address: 560 Tracy Rd., Suite B, New Whiteland, IN 46184

IMPORTANT NOTE: Our location can be hard to find. We are on the left (north) side of Tracy Rd. in the same building as Grace Bible Church. We are behind (north) the Johnson County Public Library Clark Pleasant Branch and the New Whiteland Police Department. If you pass Wood Auto Repair or Hawthorn Bloom Dr. (coming from US 31, i.e., heading east), you have gone too far. Our offices are on the far right end of the building. Enter the last door on the right. You may find it helpful to look up the location of Grace Bible Church via a satellite view before arriving.

What do I bring?

Please bring your Bible, a notebook, and something with which to write. **We do not have facilities for childcare. Regrettably, if you come with your children, we will have to reschedule your appointment for a later date.**

How do I submit my paperwork?

You may submit your paperwork through our website via our online form; download and e-mail your paperwork to lorra@rodandstaministries.org; fax your forms to 317- 859-6942; or mail your forms to us; or drop them off at our office.

Why are there so many questions?

Our counselors spend a lot of time praying and preparing for your session before they even meet with you the first time. The more information they have up front, the better they are able to prepare for your first session and bring materials that would be beneficial to dealing with your situation (see Proverbs 18:13).

How do I pay the administrative fee?

There are several ways to submit payment; you may mail a check in with your completed forms (please make checks payable to Rod and Staff Ministries), or you can submit your payment online.

Animation

Pick an animation style to enable animations for this element. Once enabled, you will be able to customize your animation style further. To disable animations, choose the None option.

By default, animations will only play once. If you would like to loop your animation continuously you can choose the Loop option here.

Pick from up to five different animation directions, each of which will adjust the starting and ending position of your animated element.

Speed up or slow down your animation by adjusting the animation duration. Units are in milliseconds and the default animation duration is one second.

If you would like to add a delay before your animation runs you can designate that delay here in milliseconds. This can be useful when using multiple animated modules together.

Intensity effects how subtle or aggressive your animation will be. Lowering the intensity will create a smoother and more subtle animation while increasing the intensity will create a snappier more aggressive animation.

By increasing the starting opacity, you can can reduce or remove the fade effect that is applied to all animation styles.

Here you can adjust the easing method of your animation. Easing your animation in and out will create a smoother effect when compared to a linear speed curve.
