Snowy Trees

Greetings,

Please know that we do not take delight in cancelling classes.  We delight in God–in His sovereignty and mercy.  It is the burden of leadership to, at times, remove the burden of decision making from others.  Thus I, Jim, have made the decision to cancel classes again tonight, 4 Feb 2014.

Beloved, mother-nature is impotent.  Our great God orders all things in His kingdom.  All of us must speak the following truth to our souls: “I take it that God intends His glory and my good in this circumstance.”  Look, do you see His mercy and might, even in the storm.  All things MUST work together for good–do you rest your soul in that momentous promise?

Psalm 135:7

He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.

Please know that we will work with every student to make up the material.  The classes build one, upon another.  Thus, we have, for the moment, simply extended the semester two additional weeks, ending 29 April.  When we meet, we will work together with those who cannot extend by adding additional sessions as necessary.

I want to encourage you all to continue with us.  Biblical counseling continues to be one of the three most important truths I have learned in 20 years of redemption and seven years of seminary.  This class will change the way you look at suffering, conflict, God’s purposes, and your responses to life.  Please join us in rejoicing that we are not at the mercy of some impersonal force, we are at the mercy of Jesus…and everything He does is for His glory and the good of the saints.

BTW: We are also teaching a Semester Two @ Gray Road Baptist Church on Mondays.  Our first class was last night, 3 Feb.  All those enrolled in Semester Two @ GCC are welcome to attend on Mondays for any classes missed.

I am looking forward to growing in grace and truth with you.

10,000 Blessings in The Wonderful Counselor,
Jim
