I just finished a great book on depression and bi-polar disorder, written from a medical and biblical position. Please check it out if interested: Good Mood, Bad Mood, by MD and biblical counselor Charles Hodges.
I share one, of many, enlightening thoughts:
“If unresolved sadness and anger are doorways into the dark garden of a depressed mood, then worry is the fertilizer that makes it grow” (Hodges, Good Mood, Bad Mood, 144).
“Worry helped keep the consuming fire of sadness and anger burning” (Hodges, Good Mood, Bad Mood, 145).
Our problems in life are never isolated. Our responses to our problems are critically important. Seek toplease God in every response.
“Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!
Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil” (Psalm 37:8).
