Satisfaction of Saints

If God is our good; if pleasing God is our pursuit; if trusting God is our treasure—if God is our soul’s delight—then exulting and rejoicing will be our result—for EVER.  Beloved, this is the promise of Scripture and the content of our counsel.  Rod and Staff Ministries seeks the saints’ joy.  We follow our Lord and desire your greatest delight.  We are for you—your joy—your soul to sing.

Rod and Staff Ministries seeks to equip local churches to encourage the saints to live above circumstance to exalt the worth of God.  Daily we see people in great suffering…and daily we endeavor to help them see their Savior in the pain.  As believers, we have the words of life…and hope.  There is great hope in the truth that God is working all things for good.  That is no empty promise.  It is actual and eternal.  God has promised to use ALL affliction in the lives of believers to accomplish two soul-satisfying realities: (1) to  increase Conformity to Christ, and (2) to  increase Capacity to enjoy Jesus.

²⁸ And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,

for those who are called according to his purpose. 

²⁹ For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son,

in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. ~ Romans 8:28-29

Charles Spurgeon, more than a century ago, said, “You shall not have one half a drop of grief more than is absolutely needful for your good and God’s glory.”  God has determined to use every ounce of suffering the “faith-full” saint experiences to increase their satisfaction with the Savior.  Jesus is, after all, “a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.”  How would we know Him more and thereby enjoy Him more unless we too shared in His sufferings (as Paul prayed, Phil 3:10)?

When one receives biblical counseling or training from Rod and Staff Ministries, it is often the first time that the idea of growth in the capacity to enjoy Jesus is increased in sorrow is considered.  When people catch hold of this truth they begin to live lives that soar—and sing—above circumstance.  This is our passion.
